Music Nation Cymru - Open Doors
As part of the Music Nation Cymru weekend, Making Music Wales and Tŷ Cerdd are encouraging singers, instrumentalists, music groups and communities across Wales to join our National Cymanfa Ganu on Sunday March 4.
In addition to a massed event taking place at the Wales Millennium Centre at 12:00 noon (further information on which can be found here) music groups across Wales are also encouraged to organise their own events in their communities under the banner of Open Doors.
For the National Cymanfa, Making Music Wales and Tŷ Cerdd are making a series of pieces of Welsh music, FREE for download from this website. In addition to vocal scores, flexibly scored instrumental parts and full brass band scores are also available, along with midi files of each of the works to assist with individual home preparation.
Groups across Wales are encouraged to open up your local venues or rehearsal rooms, engaging with, and placing you at the heart of, your local communities. Music for the event can be found here, while your individual events can be registered here using the simple online form. A list of all events will be made available from mid February.
