Bandstand Marathon
Superact, in association with Making Music
September 25
www.bandstandmarathon.org.uk
Superact is pleased to announce that the Bandstand Marathon will be taking place throughout parks and town centres in the UK on Sunday 25th September 2011. As part of the Cultural Olympiad the Bandstand Marathon aims to humanise public spaces by having as many bands performing on as many bandstands and outdoor performances spaces all at the same time on the same day throughout the UK.
The event, now in its 4th year celebrates local amateur musical talent; reflecting the amateur athletes who will be participating in the 2012 Olympic Games. It also makes use of the many historic bandstands that adorn our local parks and town centres; many of which are underused or never used at all and we hope to revitalise and reinvigorate them

123sing!
Making Music in association with Classic FM
September 30 to October 2
www.classicfm.co.uk/charity/123-sing-2011
Classic FM and Making Music are again joining together to present 123sing!, the biggest celebration of singing in the UK, on 30 September - 2 October 2011. Sing together to help others & be part of the biggest singing event of the year, and simultaneously raise money for music education and therapy projects.
Host a singing event, at home or in your local community, on or near to 30 September - 2 October 2011 and help raise money for the Classic FM Foundation, and in supporting 123sing! you will be helping to fund music education and therapy projects for the most disadvantaged children and adults in the UK. To find out where the money goes, read Phoebe's story.
It doesn't matter how much you raise or how you raise it. Every penny counts! Last year participants registered 170 events on the 123sing! map. From come and sing events to pop-up community choirs, open rehearsals, barbershop on bicycles and singing on top of the Spinnaker Tower, there was something for everyone. If you didn't take part last year, this is your chance!

This October, Making Music Wales and Ty Cerdd, in association with Classic FM, are inviting brass musicians and singers from across Wales to come together at the iconic Wales Millennium Centre, in a massed celebration of the proud Welsh traditions of voluntary music making and song.

*Everyone is welcome to participate, as individuals or as groups.
The performance will take place in the Glanfa Foyer of the Wales Millennium Centre on Sunday October 2, where a massed brass band and choir will assemble and perform, under the direction of a variety of leading brass and choral conductors for a large scale Cymanfa Ganu style event. 123sing! Cymru is open to all, and will consist wholly of Welsh music, which is available to download and print free, courtesy of Ty Cerdd, from this website
